Fern-Marie Choya

Fern was a beautiful person - smart, funny, kind...an avid football fan, amazing photographer and travel enthusiast... but most of all she was loved... loved by Ted, her family and all of us.
She touched each of our lives in different ways and added to our life stories just as we added to hers.... she will forever be remembered as we carry her in our hearts.
From Fern's blog https://ajourneywithfernie.wordpress.com/:
My name is Fern, I grew up in Trinidad and at the age of 23 I moved to London to satisfy my travel bug and complete a Master’s degree. Thirteen years later, London has become my home. I am happily married.
My husband Ted is my rock and inspiration, he is my biggest fan and has always encouraged me in the pursuit of my passions, he often has more faith me in than I have in myself.
I am an avid photographer and I love travelling, being outdoors, sports ( I am not very good at playing them but I love watching them, particularly football). I am a passionate Arsenal fan.
At the age of 26, I was diagnosed with Lupus and a few years later idiopathic Gastroparesis. I’ve been living with chronic illness for the last 10 years.
I recently gave up my job in Finance, tired of the daily struggle to survive, I felt it was time to acknowledge my condition, the needs of my body and strive to live a more fulfilling life.
Taking a career break was an agonising decision for me, as I have always been very ambitious, but my struggles with my health have made me re-evaluate the things that are truly important to me.
I hope to share with you my journey towards better health as well as my passion for photography and travel. (2016)
